It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sarah Medina on Sunday, May 27th at the age of 21. Sarah lived her life with kindness, adventure and intellect and will be missed by so many.
Sarah is survived by her parents, Holly Johnston and Robert Medina, her sister Rachel, as well as loving grandparents Sandra and the late Donald Johnston, Mario and Mirta Medina, her Aunt Anna Medina-Cartwright (Chris), her cousins Ryan, Mark and Marisa Schroeter as well as her Uncle Bill Johnston.
Sarah is a graduate of St-Francis Xavier High School (2014), receiving the Governor General’s Academic Medal for her scholastic accomplishments and attended McGill University in the Bachelor of Science program.
Our entire family would like to thank our friends and the amazing staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their immeasurable compassion and support in the most difficult time of our lives.
Friends will be received for memorial visitation at Capital Funeral Home, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, ON 613-692-1211 on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A Service celebrating Sarah’s life will take place on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11am at Parkdale United Church, 429 Parkdale Ave, Ottawa.
As an expression of sympathy and in honour of Sarah, memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation and Parkdale United Church.
