POOHKAY, Sandra
Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the age of 62. Survived by her sister Patricia Busch (Greg), aunt to Adrianne Busch (Mathew Kostka) and Jordan Busch, and great-aunt to Natalie, Dominic, Nathan and Delaney. Sandra was a lifelong traveller, enjoying the many different cultures, cuisine and landscapes of the world. Her quiet strength and independence, along with a career as a policy advisor carried her around the globe. She will be greatly missed by her close friends Marilyn, Helen, Dave and Katherine as well as her beautiful poodle, Olivia and her gentle horse, Glenn. A special thank you to the staff at Elisabeth Bruyere, especially nurses Shawn and Joy for their kind and compassionate care. A graveside committal service will be held at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (Cancer Research) or Bruyère Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery.
