Obituary for Sandra Lee Mary Birnie (Gagne)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Sandra Birnie (nee Gagne) at the age of 69, after a long battle with COPD. She will be greatly missed by her mother Gwladys Huard (late Edward “Pappy”); her children Elizabeth Bain (Scott), James Birnie (Carla); her grandchildren David, Grace and Adam; her brothers Dale Gagne (Lorraine), Robin Gagne (Elizabeth) and Edward Huard (Karen); her sister Debbie Ames; and her many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Sincere thanks to the Tri-Town Extendicare and the Temiskaming Hospital for the special care they have given to Sandra over the years. A very special thank you to her loving sister Debbie, who was with her at the end.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, 483 Broadway Street, Haileybury on Sunday, March 25 from 11 a.m. until commencement of the memorial service at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to COPD Canada (COPD Canada, 555 Burnhamthorpe Road, Suite 306 Toronto, ON, M9C 2Y3) would be greatly appreciated.
