It is with great sadness that the family of Sandra Lee Leard (Bell) announces her passing on December 11, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with COPD. She was Mrs. Leard, the teacher to many, Nanny and Mom, and “Sanra Lee” to her husband Danny. Sandra Lee is survived by her children Karie and Kirk, and her grandson Ryan Leard. She is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Ann) Bell, brother Bradley Bell, as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara Ann has been a great support to Sandra Lee and Karie during her illness. Sandra Lee was predeceased by her husband Danny in 1999, and by her brother Jack(ie). Sandra Lee was fortunate enough to enjoy different careers; she was an educator first, and retired as the office manager at TD Evergreen. Sandra Lee was fortunate enough to teach and live in her neighbourhood of Loch Lomond for over 20 years, educating and influencing children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Sandra Lee’s greatest job was as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to Ryan. She enjoyed Saturday nights playing 45’s with Pat and Vernon, many visits and laughs with Carolyn and Gordie, and Martha. Her Loch Lomond friends never forgot her. Sandra Lee volunteered at Romero House, and always gave generously to Christmas charities. She supported her children and grandson always. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of her incredible life may be held at a later date; her family requests privacy during this difficult time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John. Remembrances to the Saint John SPCA, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
