It is with great sadness the family of Samuel Joseph Shapter announce his passing which occurred at the Palliative Care, Miller Centre on March 31, 2018.
Born in St. John’s, NL on October 24, 1928 he was the son of Andrew and Sarah (Andrews) Chapter. Brother of the late George Chapter, Mary Chapter, Margaret Gorman, Edith Shapter.
Joe was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Terra Nova Council 1452. Joe was also a dedicated Fourth Degree Archbishop Howley. He was also a former member of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.
Leaving to mourn several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Friend Norman Peddle (Mary deceased) and the Peddle Family.
Visitation to take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday April 8 from 12 Noon – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place from St. Patrick’s Church on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 9:30 With inurnment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations to be made in Joseph’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
