It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our dad, Samuel Chesley LeGrow age 93. Predeceased by his loving wife Helen (Howell) LeGrow (2013), parents Allan and Annie LeGrow and sister Nina (LeGrow) Sackerson. Leaving to mourn with heavy hearts are his two sons Derrick (Christine), Allan (Kathy) and daughter Lee-Ann (Michael) Fleming. His five grandchildren, Laurie LeGrow (Sam), Serena LeGrow (Tarik), Derrick LeGrow Jr., Erin (Jayson) Huygens and Mark Fleming (Julia). Three great grandchildren Maxwell MacMillan, Zen Kadar and Logan Huygens. Also, a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Cambridge Estates, Chancellor Park and the Dr.’s and nurses on 4S Health Sciences for the excellent care and compassion that was given to our father, it is greatly appreciated. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. St. John’s on Sunday, April 29 and Monday, April 30 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 1 at 2:00pm from St. James United Church, Elizabeth Avenue. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, St. John’s. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Dad was known to be a great story teller and loved the opportunity to share those stories whenever he could. We will always remember Dad by passing on those stories with the talent and enthusiasm Dad had in telling them.
