Sally Robinson
Sally Robinson (nee Smith) passed away on October 3, 2018 at the age of 102. In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private burial at the Beth Israel Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario. Shiva will be observed at the home of Michael and Penny Robinson, 32 MacDonnell Street. A shiva minyan will take place on Thursday at 6 p.m. Visiting hours are Friday, October 5, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by Shabat service at Beth Israel Synagogue. Sally was predeceased by Percy, her husband of 40 years, brothers Morrie and Dave (Bessie) and sisters Ida (Ben), Sylvia (Ben), Martha (Ruby) and Bebe (Dave). She is survived by her daughter Debra, her son Michael and daughter-in-law Penny, grandchildren Alexander (Bonnie), Lindsay and Philip, sister-in-law Shirley and her children Cindy, Gary (Cindy) and Edward (Julia) as well as many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Sally was born to Ezra and Fannie Smith in Guelph in 1916. She to Kingston in 1947 and joined her husband Percy and her brother Morrie in running the S&R Department Store. In her younger years Sally was an active member of the Beth Israel Synagogue and Hadassah Auxiliary. Throughout her life Sally had a keen interest in local politics and was a generous supporter of Kingston hospitals and community organizations. The family wishes to express its appreciation to the staff of Conservatory Pond, especially Jennifer, Maria and Cathy, for their kindness and special attention. Thanks to all her caregivers from Limestone Home Services, and to Beverly, Berlinda, and Maricel who lovingly cared for Sally in her final months. If desired, memorial donations may be made, to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF), the Kingston Partners in Mission Food Bank or a local charity of the donor’s choice.
