Our matriarch died peacefully at home on August 13 at the age of 96. Predeceased in 2006, by her husband, Samuel (Ted) of 56 years; daughter Jean in 1993 and son Ron in 1966. Ruth resided in Burnaby for 70 years.
She is survived by daughters Leona (Denny); Doris; twins Maureen (Jack) & Colleen (David); son in law Ray and Angie, a special friend and neighbour for 60 years.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Patricia (John), cousin Elfreda and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. G.; care aids from St. Elizabeth & Fraser Health palliative care doctors and nurses for their assistance and support.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby with a reception to follow in an adjoining hall.
