OBITUARY
Rufina B Tablan
January 9, 1931 – November 20, 2018
Rufina Bernabe Tablan (also known as “Pining”) was 87 years old when she passed away on November 20, 2018 She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She cherished family get together and was always ready to lend a helping hand to whomever needed one. She had a deep abiding faith which enabled her to accept life’s challenges.
Rufina was born in San Nicolas, Bulacan, Philippines to Clodualdo Tablan and Benita Villanueva Tablan on January 9, 1931. She is survived by her children: Cynthia and Charles, Celeste, Nel, Rupert and Lailan; grandchildren: Clea and Rhys; nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. All her seven siblings had predeceased her.
Ocean View Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Visitation will be be held at Ocean View Funeral Home , 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby BC on December 13, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St Mary’s Parish Church, 5251 Joyce St., Vancouver, BC , on December 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with The Reverend Father Guy Rivard, O.P. officiating.
In lieu of flowers of flowers and other gifts, please send memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or The Kidney Foundation. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Royal Ascot Care Facility for their outstanding care and attention to our mother. Last but not least, the Secular Franciscan Order who have provided the spiritual support and constant presence in our mother’s final journey.
