Ruby Josephine McPhee
1930-2018
It is with gratefulness for a wonderful life that the family
of Ruby McPhee announces her passing, which occurred on Wednesday,
July 4, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Wickham,
NB on November 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and
Edna (London) Mott.
Ruby moved to Saint John at a young age to seek her fortune –
as well as a library to satiate her voracious appetite for
reading. After raising her family and retiring from a long
career at Saint John Housing, Ruby volunteered for many years with the
Salvation Army income tax clinic. She loved to travel, eat
good food, and share intimate conversation. By her skilled
hands, thousands of home cooked meals, pies, and pickles were
made. Most of all she will be missed for her kindness, her
warmth, and her generous, unconditional love.
Remembered forever by her children: William
(Linda), Terry (Cathy), Cate, Marilyn (Matt), and Jeffrey;
grandchildren: Tricia, Cass, Tristan, Mark, Michael, Josie, Andrew;
sisters, Thelma (John), Eileen, Elizabeth, and Sandra (Dave); and
father of her children, Danny McPhee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration
of Ruby’s Life, which will take place at
Brenan’s Reception Centre, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Saturday, July 7, 2018 starting
at 2:00 PM.
For those who wish, remembrances made to Bobby’s
Hospice or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by
the family.
