Roy left to be with our Lord peacefully October 6, 2018 early morning. Our family includes Lorraine (his loving wife of 62 years), son Ken (Jacquie), daughter Lois, grandchildren Lisa (great grands Sydney and Owen), Kari (husband Ryan, great grand Lucas), Roy’s identical twin Ray (Jennie), sister-in-law Carol (Fred), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy lived happily 91 years on our family farm. Dairy farmed with Ray and his late mother Emilie. He was humble, faithful, and ever prayerful. His goal of living out his life at our farm was achieved with brother Ray who walked miles together daily. He had many farm neighbours and friends he loved and visited joyfully. Dad worked with and supported all our family; taking time for ice fishing, swimming, and gardening. He would grow extra potatoes to give to friends, family, and those in need (always a few too many.) The Gideon’s organization was a passion and many New Testaments were given to grade 5-ers. Dad made friends with all people he met and was social and warm hearted to all. He learned BBQing late in life and helped Lorraine as teammates always.
All friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service held on October 11, 2018 at 2:00pm at Millwoods Community Church, 2304 38 St NW, Edmonton.
