It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our treasured mother and wife, Rose Ellen Poirier, January 10, 2018 at the age of 63.
Born in New Waterford, NS Rose was the youngest daughter of the late Joey and Hester Perfect.
Besides her parents, Rose was pre-deceased by her sister, Joyce MacLellan and brothers, John Joe and Danny Perfect. Rose is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Leo, who stood devotedly by her side during her illness. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Elizabeth Cameron; brothers, Gerard Perfect and Timothy Perfect; her extended family; her nieces and nephews; her friends and especially by her daughters, Renee (Troy) Wilson and Sherri Poirier (Adam Mugridge) along with her four grandchildren, Cruz, Nico, Molly & Milo -her absolute pride and joy.
Rose worked at Malcolm Munroe Junior High prior to her illness, where she made many friends along the way. She was known for the connections she made and continued to have with the students and staff over subsequent years.
Rose will be remembered for many things – her vibrant spirit and kindness, her sense of humour, her love of music, but above all, Rose will always be remembered for her generosity. Some people are dreamers, some people are doers… Rose was a giver.
Rose was loved greatly and deeply by her family and, despite her health issues over the last several years; the time spent with Nanny Rose during this period was priceless and will forever be cherished. She will truly be missed by those closest to her. A special thanks to Ana, Cecilia, Lisa and Arlene who stood closely by her side these past few years. Those acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Chant’s Funeral Home on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2-4: and 6-8 p.m. and funeral will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Dwayne Deveraux officiating.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated.
