Ronald « Ronnie » Tweedie Ripley
1933-2018
It is with deep sadness that we announce
the peaceful passing of Ronald « Ronnie »
Tweedie Ripley, age 85, of Maccan, NS.
Ronnie passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at East
Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, NS.
Born in Chignecto, NS, he was a son of
the late David and Hazel (MacFarlane) Ripley, and step mother late Lillian (Delaney)
Ripley.
Ronnie began work at the Nappan
Experimental Farm, first in the Dairy Barn, then moved to the Animal
Laboratory, then the Nutrition Lab where he remained until his
retirement in 1990, having worked at « the farm » for over 38
years. He was a
proud and very active member of the PSAC Union where he made many
special friends. He loved
to travel, often with the union. He and Joyce enjoyed their
cottage life in East Linden. Ronnie was well known for his
carpentry skills, having built many homes, camps and cottages. He enjoyed curling, golfing,
and playing cards.
He will be sadly missed by his
wife of 66 years, Joyce. He was the best and kindest
father, grandfather, son, uncle, brother and friend. He will be missed by numerous
people whose lives were impacted by him. In addition to Joyce, he leaves
behind daughter Susan (Don) White, Port Howe, NS; son Keith (Jill)
Ripley, Maccan, NS; grandchildren Steve, Scott, Jeff, Stacey, Michael,
and Lori; great grandchildren Logan, Mya, Kiran, Samantha, Ella, Lyla,
Dawson, and Kaylin; brother Warren (Ann), North Carolina, Willie,
Truro, NS and Freddie (Sandy), Chignecto, NS; several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter
Heather, his son Dean, and a special mother in law Amie, as well as a
brother Dave.
Arrangements have been entrusted into
the care and direction of Furlong~Jones Funeral
Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS
(902-667-8777). A time
of visitation will be held at Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Friday,
August 17, 2018 from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed immediately by the
funeral service at 2 pm, Rev. Wayne McCarther
officiating.

memory may be made to the Cumberland Hospice, or the charity of your
choice.
