Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family on September 18, 2018 at the age of 88 years.
Predeceased by son Ronnie, parents John and Mary Oats, brothers Bill (Irene), John (Mary), Tom, sisters Gertrude Devine (Mike), Cecelia Fennelly (Dennis), Marie Coady (Dennis) and Annie Santangelo (Rocco).
Leaving to mourn with treasured memories his wife of 61 years, Gladys, his children Rosalind Coombs (Fabian), Perry (Debbie), Doug (Pam), Verda Kavanagh (Gerard), Diane Brophy (Des), Jamie (Patricia), 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Brothers Charlie (Dorothy), Edmund (Yvonne), sister Dorothy Hurley (Jim Collins), sisters-in-law Lena Oates, Emma Dyer, Ruby Schwab (Albert), Millicent Andrews, Verda Greening (Fred) and brother-in-law John Ash (Emma), caregiver and friend, Ronnie Wheaton, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse, Wednesday, Sept 19th from 2:00 – 9:00 pm, Thursday Sept 20th 2:00 – 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial on Friday Sept 21st at 11:00 am from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Fermeuse. Interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Fermeuse.
