Ronald Levi Augustus Gough
Gough, Ronald Levi Augustus “Gus”, age 86, of East Preston, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Ronald, lovingly known as “Bud” to most, was born in East Preston and was a member of the East Preston United Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Charles and Mabel (Glasgow) Gough. He had many occupations over the years including driving passengers in the early years, construction, painting and masonry. However, the most enjoyable was his pig farm that he owned and successfully ran for many years.
Ronald was a father to Rhonda (Edward) Simmons, East Preston; Sandra Gough, Toronto; Carolyn (Gerald) Taylor, Dartmouth; Donald (Margaret), East Preston; Deborah (Paul) Fleming, British Columbia; Joanne (Bill) Bramfield, Ottawa; Lynn (Tony) Grosse, Cherry Brook; Michael Gough, Dartmouth. He is also survived by foster sisters Viola Clayton, Dartmouth and Doreen, Montreal; grandfather to 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Ronald was predeceased by brothers Clem, Charles, Ellsworth, Donald and sister Ivy. He was also predeceased by foster brother and sister Arnold and Mabel and companion Joyce.
Visitation will be held from 7:00-8:30 pm on Tuesday, March 13 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St, Dartmouth, where the funeral will take place at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 14, Rev Dr Joyce Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the East Preston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of NS.
