Roger Helgason
Roger passed away suddenly Dec. 29, 2017. He was born to Robert (Dr. Bob) and Margaret Helgason in Winnipeg Dec. 28, 1949. He lived and started school in Glenboro until the family moved to Burnaby, B.C. In 1958.
He was involved in the hospitality and golf industry during his working years, The Side Track Pub in Delta, Wranglers Pub in Penticton and he then moved to Kelowna where he helped develop and manage the Shannon Lake Golf Course with his dad after his retirement.
He had a great love of family and spent many happy times visiting relatives and friends in the prairies. He especially enjoyed having his daughter Kristina and grandsons William and Alexander living close to him in Kelowna. An avid reader of the Glenboro Gazette he loved to hear and keep up with the news from Glenboro., his mom saving her Gazettes for his visits to Vancouver.
A gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Kristina, grandsons William and Alexander, sisters Susanna, Cathryn (Derek) , their families, friends and many relatives.
A private memorial service will be held at the Glenboro Cemetery.
