Obituary for Roger Braet
At his home on Friday December 21, 2018 Roger Charles Braet, passed away at the age of 86. Beloved husband to Maddy (nee Passenier) for nearly 52 years. Loving father to Cyriel (Lisa) Braet, Peter (Lily) Braet, Christopher (Mary) Braet, Anna-Marie (Eric) Baumgart, David Braet and Stephanie Braet. Cherished Opa to Katie, Abby, Callan, Jackson, Liam, Katarina, Dominic, Jeremy, Martin, Anthony, Mika, Cheyenne, and Clara. Dear brother Maurice Braet (Theresa) and brother-in-law to Rene (Mary-Jane) Passenier. Roger will be remembered by his nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, Cyriel and Celina Braet and his brother, Etienne “Earl” (Yvonne) Braet and brother-in-law to the late Lillian Braet and Yvonne Braet. Roger was a dedicated farmer for 75 years on LaSalle Line. He was a member of the Wheat Board and Farm Safety for several years and St. Vincent De Paul for 66 years. He was also a life-long parishioner of St. Philip’s Parish in Petrolia and a graduate of LCCVI. Visitors will be received by the family from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday with parish prayers at 6:00 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at St. Philip’s Parish. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
