Benard, Roger
It is with sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Roger Benard on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home in his 75th year. Husband of the late Shirley Benard (Nicholls) (1994). Loving father of Paul (Wendy) Grenier and Giselle (Mark) Russell. Beloved grandfather of Luc and Claire Grenier, Austin and Ethan Russell. Dear brother of the late Donald (Annette) Benard, and Paulette (Tony) Burnaccioni. Will be missed by his nieces and nephews Vincent (Sheila) Benard, Jeannette (Miles) Kulik, Christian (Jenny) Burnaccioni, Marielle Burnaccioni (Chris). Will be remembered by his brother-in-law Grant Loft and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many long-time friends. Son of the late Paul and Flore Benard. Roger was retired from Atlas Steele where he had worked for 30 years. He was an avid Montreal Canadians fan and loved cards, games and socializing with people.
In honouring Roger’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Welland Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Please share your condolences and memories at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca.
