Obituary of Roderick O’Connor
Peacefully, at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Roderick O’Connor of Alexandria at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Theresa O’Connor (née McCosham). Loving father Patricia O’Connor (Marc Derochier), Lorna Turjanica (Rob), Leona Collins (Brian), Shanon Faubert, Donald O’Connor (Mary Miller) and Lynn Jackson (Mike). Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Predeceased by his parents Donald A. and Mary (née Bell) O’Connor; and by his sisters Ida Lalonde (late Edgar), Catherine Dewar (late Myles) and Mae Sauvé (late Leo). Roderick will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Family and friends are requested to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9-10 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home Reception Centre. Spring Interment, St. Finnan’s Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
