Gibbons, Robert William, September 13, 1931 – November 4, 2018, Robert (Bob) was born in Bentinck, Ontario to Robert Earl and Mary Ellen (nee Sollors). Robert married Joan (Dolly) Eileen Dobson on April 5, 1958 and they made their home in Southampton and area. He worked many jobs and one he talked of fondly was sailing the Great Lakes. Robert and Joan had four children, Susan Diane, Steven Robert, Andrew William and Judith Louise. The family went ‘North’ to Whitehorse, Yukon in 1972 where Robert was a welder for White Pass & Yukon Route and then General Enterprises for many years. Mom and Dad made many trips back ‘home’ with the kids and later on their own to see our large extended family and friends. Bob was a traveller at heart and also did solo road trips when he could. He was predeceased by son Andrew; parents, Robert and Mary; wife, Joan; siblings, Maurice, Florence, Marion, Gladys and Eileen. He will be deeply missed by daughter, Susie (Glen); son, Steve; daughter, Judy (Mouse); grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Celynne, Branden, Jazmine, Thea, Seth, Shawn, Jaxson, Jeni and Quinn; many great-granchildren and still counting. Robert requested cremation and interment with wife and son in Southampton, Ontario. No service is planned at this time. Family private graveside ceremony at a later date.
