Obituary for Robert Norman Liley
Robert Norman Liley, retired teacher, died unexpectedly at home July 11 2018.
Robert, also referred to as Bob and Bubba, was born on November 11 1945 to William and Valerie in Halifax, Yorkshire, England. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1954. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in 1975 which he completed in three years while working full time as a teacher. He loved to teach as much as his students loved to attend his classes and had a curious fascination for musical theatre, the arts and mainstream rock. Argos, Maple Leafs and Blue Jays drove his passion for sport, but none of these teams contend to his beloved Halifax Town A.F.C football club; The Shaymen, which he had followed from abroad his entire life.
Survived by children Megan, Rachel (Michael), and Michael (Melissa), grandchildren Georgia, Rosalyn and Hannah, brother Keith and sister Diane.
He will be Deeply Missed. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the heart and stroke foundation would be appreciated.
