Robert McGeachy
October 26, 1961 – January 7, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert McGeachy on Sunday January 7, 2018, at home with his beloved wife, Lindsay and cat, Monty by his side.
Robert was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth McGeachy, and his brother John McGeachy. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lindsay; step-daughter Kathryn Kennedy (Darrin Jorowski); step-son Andrew Kennedy (Brittney) and step grandchildren Brady and Jordyn Jorowski, as well as extended family and friends.
Robert attended John Taylor Collegiate and later became an aircraft propeller technician, spending the last 22 years at Canadian Propeller, where Rob and Lindsay met.
Robert had many hobbies and passions including his computer, watching movies, playing his guitars and cheering on the Detroit Red Wings. He loved animals, especially penguins and wolves, but most of all he loved being with his cat Monty. His cat was his world and he loved to spoil him.
The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at HSC, CancerCare, Grace Hospital, Palliative Care and home care, who all contributed to his care.
A service will be held in honour of Robert’s life on Monday January 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Avenue Winnipeg, MB. Interment and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the World Wildlife Fund to save an Emperor penguin or a Grey wolf, or an animal rescue shelter of your choice.
