Robert Harold Gray
Robert Harold Gray, born in 1932 in Kleinburg, Ontario, passed away on May 5, 2018. He was predeceased by his birth parents, adoptive parents, Robert and Ida Gray, and his birth silblings. Harold is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Swift Current; daughter, Lori Gray of Alliston, Ontario; son, Lane (Jan) Gray; and granddaughter, Zoe Gray of Watson, Saskatchewan. Harold attended school in Crichton and Admiral, Saskatchewan. He was a life long farmer on the family homestead near Admiral. He loved travelling and visting new places. He was a collector of guns, toy tractors and old cars. He was interested in history, trains, planes and machinery. He was an avid reader, well informed about local and world issues. Harold had many interests. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and anything outdoors. His real passion was farming; he actively worked the farm his whole life, right to the end. He loved nothing more than to putter around the farm yard and tinker with his toys. He was always involved in community work, active as a board member in various organizations. He strongly supported the sustenance of rural life and worked hard to keep it alive and thriving. He was a family man but also a very social man, entertaining and being with friends and neighbours. He will be forever loved and missed by his family, friends and neighbours. The funeral service was held Friday May 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the East Side Church of God with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. The eulogy as read by Garry Rettenmier, Wayne Roberts, Lori Gray and Zoe Gray. The ushers were Randy Steinley, Keith Buckingham, Myles Buckingham, Bruce Buckingham and Walter Francis. The Honorary Pallbearers were Frelan & Denna Saunders, Norm & Bev Galey, John & Carol Dyck, Len & Cheri Remple, Jerry & Karen Reimer and Wayne & Marlene Roberts. The Pallbearers were Paul Buckingham, Dale Buckingham, Jody Fenell, Jeremy Wilson, Neil Dunham and Allen Lind. The interment service will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current. Donations in memory of Harold may be made to the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Warren’s Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
