Obituary for Robert « Bob » Mayes
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Robert (Bob) Mayes, announce his passing. He passed suddenly on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Brockville General Hospital; Charles Street Site at the age of 79 years. Loved and deeply missed by his wife of 58 years Evelyn (Ruston) and by his daughters Cindy (Mark Nutbrown) and Christine Kennedy. Also missed by his grandchildren Danielle, Joey, Sam (Amy) and Marki as well as by his greatgrandsons Simon and Spencer. He is predeceased by his mother Louise Mayes of Prescott.
Bob was born and raised in Prescott. He loved to spend time with family and friends, singing and playing guitar, and doing anything involving the river. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and keeping the weeds out of his precious vegetable garden.
At Bob’s request there will be no visitation at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Any donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind; Research for Macular Degeneration would be gratefully appreciated.
