Robert Edwin « Bob » Hollub
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert on July 23, 2018 at 91 years of age. Beloved husband of 65 years to Bernice. Loving father of RJ & wife Cathy, Tiar, Laura & husband Al and Aarin. Cherished Grandfather to Dillon. Treasured son of the late Helen & John Hollub. Youngest sibling to Leo, Tillie, Adele, Ted, Ben, Jack, and Alice.
Robert was born May 26, 1927 in Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba. He grew up around Winnipeg and had a passion for football, hockey and baseball. At 18 he moved on his own to Windsor. He worked in the Ford Foundry and put himself through school to become an accountant at Empire Hanna Coal. He made his way to Chrysler in 1956 which evolved into a career in the new field of Computer Programming. Through those years he raised a family of four children and cared for his Mother and Sister. In addition he was the Secretary for Windsor Minor Hockey in the 1960s and 70s, coaching many teams and organizing events. In 1986 he retired from a lifetime of work and enjoyed collecting sports and batman collectibles
He will be missed for his staunch support of his family and his commitment to doing the right thing – always. He was strong beyond words and fought a battle with cancer to his last breath. We are all heartbroken to say the final goodbye to Bomber Hollub.
We would like to thank the caregivers of Hospice who assisted us in this time of great need.
