Obituary Overview
Robert Browning
Robert Michael Browning passed away in hospital July 1, 2018 with family by his side. Predeceased by his father Donald and his grandparents. Rob is very much missed by mother Rose, sisters Brynda and Jamie and brother-in-law Iain, brothers George and Dan, nephew Ian, niece Carrie Ann, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends in the Owen Sound area, especially Shawna and Garry and their sons Lucas, Tanner, Phoenix, Linden and Quinton. Rob was Godfather to Lucas and “Uncle Rob” to them all, and he enjoyed spending time with the boys fishing, ATV riding, snowmobile riding, and attending their hockey games.
Born February 14, 1970 in Sudbury, Rob also lived in Prince Rupert (BC), Red Rock, Toronto, Owen Sound, Markdale, Holland Centre, and for the last 4 years, Thunder Bay. Rob graduated high school from Etobicoke Collegiate Institute. He received his Welding Certificate at Cambrian College in Sudbury, and Environmental Technology & Technician diplomas at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Lindsay. His jobs and interests coincided many times over the years; he had a very green thumb and enjoyed the outdoors, animals and nature, and in addition to years spent farming, Rob worked in a fishing tackle store, at garden centres and as an Environmental Services Assistant testing water. Other jobs involved fork lifts and machines, which he also enjoyed.
He was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved antique cars, spicy food, and his friends and family. He enjoyed travelling and music, especially Metallica and Pink Floyd, and going to concerts. Rob will be remembered as being kind, generous, quiet, private, mischievous, fun and super nice.
As per Robert’s request, no funeral service will be held.
The family thanks Northwest LHIN and the Oncology staff at Thunder Bay Regional.
