GECCHELIN, Rita Filomena (nee DiBiase)
Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the age of 78. Loving and devoted wife of Ismaele “Jack” Gecchelin. Cherished mother of Maria Ridsdale (Bernie), Silvana Land (John), and Renato Gecchelin. Proud grandmother of Chantel, Kyle and Catherine Ridsdale, and Gabrielle and Jonathan Land. Dear sister of Joanne (late Sabatino), Carmela (Carmen), late Antoinette (Tony), Angelo (Franca), Maria (late Romolo), late Ralph (Eda), late Sal (Laurie), and late Dom (Yvonne). Rita will also be sadly missed by her extended family, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends both in Canada and Italy. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 5-8pm with Vigil Prayers at 7:30pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home’s Chapel on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 1:00pm. Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens to immediately follow. Reception to be held at the funeral home following interment. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Rita’s memory to The Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
