Forever In Our Hearts
It is with great sadness that the family of Rick McKague announce his passing on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
Rick was born August 29, 1956 and grew up on the farm in Ogema, SK.
He was predeceased by his mother Donella and father Stuart.
Rick is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Debbie; son Scott (Shannon) and their son Jack; daughter Lisa (Chris) MacGillivray and their daughters Mikaela and Ainsley; stepson Jeff (Megan) Brown and their daughters Lilianna and Gracie; and stepson Brad Brown (Caroline Gagne). Also remembering Rick are his siblings and their spouses, Donna (Grant) Welke, Ross (Brenda), Carol (Greg) Leonard, Judy McKague (Mark Woodall), Dale (Dorothy), Lonny (Lucianne), Kevin (Ann) and Robert along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick loved to volunteer, whether it was coaching soccer, assisting with his children’s activities, political campaigns or the community condo board. He was a community minded person, always willing to step up when needed, volunteer his time or help anyone who might need a hand.
Academically Rick completed high school and attended SIAST in Moose Jaw, completing a computer science diploma.
Professionally Rick spent over 36 years of his career in IT with CDSL and then CGI. Rick enjoyed his work, his customers and his colleagues. In retirement Rick spent a couple of summers working as a hail adjuster with Municipal Hail. This took him back to his farming roots and his love to talk to people about farming.
Rick was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR RICK will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina SK on Sunday August 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3.
