SARDO, Reverend Father Stephen Peacefully, at St. Peter’s Hospital, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the age of 91. Beloved former Pastor of Saint Anthony of Padua, Canadian Martyrs and Sacred Heart Parish. Devoted and much loved son of the late Joseph and Maria Sardo. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Sam and Carmela Sardo, the late Joe and June Sardo, the late Charlie and Peggy Sardo, the late Angelo and Josephine Sardo, the late Dominic and Carmela Cornale, the late Jimmy and Doran Sardo and the late Len and Rose Sardo. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and dear friends, especially Susan Albanese (Sardo), Keith and Mary Ann Daw, Joseph and Rejeanne Sardo and Rocco Romeo, whose loyal and faithful friendship and visits meant the world to Father Sardo. Visitation will take place at ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA CHURCH, 165 Prospect Street North on Tuesday, October 9th, from 3-8 p.m. Vigil prayers Tuesday at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the CATHEDRAL BASILICA OF CHRIST THE KING, 714 King Street West. Visitation prior to the Funeral Mass beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Cathedral. Private family burial to follow. Many thanks to the exemplary nurses and nurse practitioner, Heather on 8 South at the Hamilton General Hospital and to the compassionate staff on the palliative care wing at Saint Peter’s Hospital: Anita, Helena and Samantha. in the Saint John Vianney wing at Saint Joseph’s Villa for their kindness and care during Father Sardo’s time at the villa. In kindness donations to the Saint Joseph’s Villa Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. « Always in our prayers and forever in our hearts, Uncle Steve you will be missed more than words can express. »
