100 years
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at Extendicare York, Sudbury.
Beloved wife of Wladyslaw “Walter” Linczewski. Loving daughter of Cyprian and Genowefa (nee Rudnicka) Piotrowski both predeceased. Dear sister of Edward Piotrowski and Janina Wozniak (Michel) all predeceased. Dear aunt of Anthony, Chester, Edward, Sophie, Wally, Elzbieta Linczewska (Jacek Flisiak and Courtney Flisiak) and Stanislawa Linczewska-Gornik (Piotr). Sadly missed by numerous family members in Poland from Wieckowski family and Linczewski family, friend & care giver Mariola Pakula, god daughter Jean Jackson and long time neighbour & friend George Lysionek of Sudbury.
Regina was taken to Germany during the war in 1942 where she worked in a camp looking after wounded soldiers. Her dream was to become nurse when she emigrated to Canada in 1946. Times were hard, separated from family she had to fend for herself. She worked in the restaurant « U Czecha » in 1948 where she met Walter and got married in November 1949.
She loved reading, gardening, sewing, gatherings with friends, dancing and was involved with the Polish Catholic Church, St. Casimir for many years. She travelled to the Holy Land, Europe, Poland went on an Alaskan cruise and visited family in Philadelphia USA.
