Raymond Wood « Woody »
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Wood at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Born in Dalhousie, son of the late Colin and Laura (Guimond) Wood.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Helena (Paschal), his daughter Vicky Barton, three grandsons; Timothy (Amanda), Tyler, Garret and one daughter-in-law, Monique Hebert. He is also survived by two brothers; Donald (Jeanne) Lawrence (Marguerite), his sister Thérèse (Marc), brother-in-law, Conrad Guitard as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his son Bruce, son-in-law Philip, brother Rod and his sister Julienne.
Raymond retired after 31 years as a salesman for Atlantic Wholesalers Ltd. His second trade which he loved was carpentry and handy work. He was an avid pool player. He was a member of the Moncton Press Club and Air Force Veterans Club. Volunteered for the Greater Moncton Dragon Boat Festival, Muscular Dystrophy and Victoria’s Quilts.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, November 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Bernard’s RC Church on Wednesday, November 28 at 1:00 pm followed by a reception. Interment in Fair Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to Victoria’s Quilts Canada or Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Fundy Chapter.
