Ray passed away in his sleep at Hospice Wellington, Guelph in his 83rd year. Ray was predeceased by his first wife, Inge. Missed and loved by his wife, Elfie, daughters Ellen (Scott) and Karin (Scott), grandchildren Tania, Holly, Evan, Jim, Kristen and Sarah, great-grandchildren Hayden and Ryker, Sister-in-laws Anneliese, Anne (Rene) as well as nieces and nephews Stephanie, Marc, Rony (Maria), Petra (Heinz), Derek (Stephanie).
Travelling was Ray’s greatest pleasure. Whether on a bicycle trip from Germany to India, backpacking in Asia, hiking in South America, exploring Australia or cruising on the Queen Mary. Ray loved to meet new people, learn some of their language and enjoy life. He also loved to read, enjoyed singing and was a proud member of the Royal Marines.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Brach 422, Erin on Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wellington Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
