Ralph Vincent Senior, of Stratford, ON, passed away peacefully surrounded by love at the Stratford General Hospital on June 30, 2018 at the age of 89. Ralph is the son of the late Frank and Stella (Benson) Senior. Beloved husband of Vivian Bondy (1995) and Kay Fortnum (2012); brother to Neil Senior (2014). Loving father to Joanne (Wayne), Al (Maureen) and Michelle (Jim). He is survived by his grandchildren Stephanie, Abby, Shannon, Jesse, Joel, Chantel and great-grandchildren Hannah, Jonas, Molly and Spencer and many nieces and nephews. Special dad and grandpa to the Fortnum family. Ralph began his career as a young man on the race track and the love of horses lived with him all of his life. When he started his family, he worked at Maxwell’s in St. Marys and then on to Samsonite for 32 years as Purchasing Agent. Upon retiring, he lived at Happy Hills Campground and Florida. Wherever Ralph went, he made amazing friendships and had so many stories about his life that we all loved. Ralph was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Stratford and worked on several committees for over 60 years. He moved to Greenwood Court Retirement Home in 2012 and made such a great bond with the residents and staff, who were like family to him. Special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at Stratford General Hospital. The compassion you showed dad was truly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Court Chapel, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford on Thursday, July 19 at 2 pm. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to L’Arche Stratford or Greenwood Court through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
