Ralph Schmidt, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Hanover and District Hospital on Sunday, September 09, 2018. He was 78.
Born on September 14, 1939 to the late Herbert and Isabel (nee Hepburn) Schmidt. Ralph was a Mason by trade and couldn’t be happier than when he was surrounded by his horses. He would often be found out with his horses for hours and hours on end.
Survived by wife Heather Schmidt (nee Whittaker) of Hanover. Loved father of Marilyn (Bruce) Meyerink of Hanover, Stanley (Danielle) Schmidt of Australia, Lynda (Len) Murphy of Wasaga Beach and Steven Schmidt of Scone.Proud grandfather of Stacy Meyerink, Stephanie Meyerink, Lucas Schmidt and Emma Schmidt. Fondly remembered by his sister Joy Fidler of Walkerton and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Raymond, Bert and sister Mary Wheeler.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home,(123-10th Street, Hanover), on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Cancer Society or to the charity of ones’ choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
