Rachel Lynn Connolly
Connolly (MacLean), Rachel, age 41, of Eastern Passage passed away peacefully, after a lengthy courageous battle, with breast cancer on Sunday February 4, 2018 at the QEII VG Site. She was the daughter of Anthony “Slade” and Sharon (Smith) MacLean. Rachel graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a degree in Bachelor of Commerce. She worked in public practice as an accountant and completing her working career as the Internal Auditor with the Nova Scotia Community College. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her common-law partner Rick Hollett; son, Joshua; daughter Jenna and their father, Shawn Connolly; step son Kameron; step daughter Stephanie; sister Rebecca (Jeremy); maternal grandmother Mary Smith and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Cecil Smith and paternal grandparents Thelma (Woodworth) MacLean and James “Frank” MacLean.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Thursday February 8th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral mass will take place at 11am on Friday February 9th in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 1570 Shore Rd., Eastern Passage. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with a reception immediately following in The Atlantic Funeral Home Reception Centre, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Metastatic Breast Cancer Fund (Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation).
The family would like to thank Dr. Murray; Dr. A Jeyakmar; nurse Darlene, the Pallliative Care team, the VON and the staff at the VG for the great care that they have given Rachel throughout her illness.
