It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Phyllis Marie Warkentin at the age of 73. Phyllis leaves behind her only son Bradley and wife Jacquie and two granddaughters, Brianne and Brittani of Edmonton, Alberta. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Shirley (Henry), Margaret (John), Joan (Ike), 1 brother Mike (Pat) and their families well as her Aunt Laura Murphy and Uncle Carl Reimer.
She was predeceased by her parents Art and Sadie Warkentin and her niece Angela Joy Friesen.
Phyllis was born and raised in Steinbach, Manitoba. She spent several years working at the Sewing Factory in Steinbach before moving to Calgary, Alberta in 1966 where her son Bradley was born. Being a single parent, she worked hard to provide for Bradley who was the center of her life. In Calgary she was employed with Nova Chemicals and lived there until 1978 when they transferred her to Edmonton where she lived out the remainder of her life. After her job at Nova was phased out she was employed by Safeway where she made many friends. Phyllis was an awesome Mom, Grandma, sister, aunt, and friend! Her devotion and love for Bradley, Jacquie, Brianne and Brittani was obvious in her delight and joy in them! You will forever be in our hearts and on our minds. Love you lots and now we’ll let God take care of you!
A Celebration of Phyllis’s life will take place at her sons home 4343-39 Ave NW Edmonton on Friday June 15, 2018, 5:30-7:30pm for those who would like to share their memories and pay their respects.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Phyllis Marie Warkentin June 1 2018.source
