It is with broken hearts the family of Phyllis Jean Petrick (nee Kachur) announces her passing in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Monday, October 8, 2018.
She is survived by her husband Paul of 56 years and their four children, Angela (Fab) Lisi, Ken (Peggy), Brad (Estelle) and Greg, along with her six grandchildren, Hilary, Emily, Celeste, Brett, Jaycie and Karly. She is also survived by two sisters, Olga (Bill) Bezditny, RoseAnn (Bill) Gylywaychuk and three brothers, Melvin (Helen), Paul (Bev), Lenny (Martha) along with all of their families.
Phyllis was pre-deceased by her parents Peter and Stella Kachur and one sister Leona Gregoraschuk.
Mom was born August 12, 1944 and grew up in Trentham, MB. At the age of 17 she married the love of her life, Paul on August 11, 1962. Shortly after their marriage they established their family farm building a successful dairy operation for many years. Then in 1986 she followed her passion and Phyllis’ Catering began. This adventure took her to all corners of the province making countless new friends along the way. The highlight of her career was catering the Ukrainian-Kiev Folklarama Pavilion for seven years.
Baba will always be in our hearts, never forgotten and forever missed.
The viewing will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 7-7:30 p.m at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB followed by a service at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB with the interment to follow at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Sarto, MB.
