PETRONELLA (Nel) BEUMER (1921-2018)
Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Delrose Retirement Home, Delhi, Petronella Beumer passed away at the age of 97 years. Beloved wife of the Late Hendrik (Henk) Beumer (1993). Much loved mother of Anne Craig (Les) of Windham Centre, John Beumer (Lois) of Delhi. Cherished grandmother of Vicki (Paul) Martin, Steve (Anne) Craig, Mike (Karrie) Craig, Stuart (Megan) Beumer, Chris (Kate) Beumer, Carrie (Kirk) Provoost, Meghan (A.J.) Wells, Kim (Jeff) Jantzi, Kevin (Helen) Cawthra, and Bryan (Kara) Cawthra and 24 great-grandchildren. Petronella is also survived by a special niece Jettie (Jim) Smith and their family. Predeceased by her parents Evert and Hendrika (Van Hunen) Van Ark, her daughter Hennie Cawthra (2018), son-in-law William Cawthra (2001) and her great-granddaughter Ava Provoost (2005). Petronella was a stay at home mom, raising her children until they started growing tobacco. Later Nel and Henk became owners of the North Hall Snack and Gas Bar for many years. She retired to Mabees Corners and later to Highway # 3 living next to her son, John until she reached the age of 95 years. She was an avid gardener especially with her ability to grow beautiful flowers. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Nel will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Jantzi (Grandson) officiating. Interment to follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Cancer Support and Resource Program of Norfolk or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. The Beumer family would like to especially thank the Delrose Staff for their extremely kind care for mom.
