Obituary of Peter Horner
HORNER, Peter Wilson
Peter passed away peacefully at home in Buckhorn, Ontario May 31st, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer, knowing that he was much loved by his family and friends. He will be truly missed by his devoted and loving partner, Renita Dykstra (Yunior Osavich) her children, grand-children and family.
He was the youngest son of the late Norman and Catherine (Woodley) Horner and was predeceased by his brother Andy in 2010. Peter will be forever missed by his brothers Jack (Lynda Coyne), Ralph (Denise Roussel Park), George (Sandi Gibson), his sister MaryAnn (Denis Nixon) and his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Aunt Laura Woodley of Ottawa, Ontario.
He will be fondly remembered by the many friends he made in Shawville, Quebec where he was born and raised. He was a proud employee of Canada Post for 28 years and an active member of the Kawartha Pool League where many strong friendships were formed.
A special Thank you to Peter’s Palliative Care Team and the staff of the 5th floor at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Sunday June 10th from 2:30-5:30.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to LAWS in Peter’s memory would be greatly appreciated
