A lifelong resident of Chatham, Peter van Middelkoop passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with his family at his side on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the age of 67.
Born in The Netherlands, Peter was the son of the late John and Cornelia (Boer) van Middelkoop.
Fondly remembered by the mother of his children, Carol (nee Kelly).
Loving father of Peter van Middelkoop of Chatham, Leo van Middelkoop of Chatham and Kelly van Middelkoop (Joe Mollica) of Belle River.
Proud Opa of Cody and Destiny van Middelkoop.
Dear brother to Carol Bos (John), Ann van Middelkoop and Bert van Middelkoop (Brenda).
Predeceased by his siblings George van Middelkoop, Elaine Oosterveld, Elizabeth Kerpel and Tina Harsevoort.
Brother-in-law to Joanne van Middelkoop, Clarence Oosterveld, Jerry Kerpel and Harry Harsevoort.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
In his 30’s, Peter enjoyed playing hockey in the Canadian Reforms. He also enjoyed watching hockey, particularly his children and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Peter retired from Richmond Motors after over 37 years of service.
Funeral arrangements will be finalized on Monday, January 15, 2018.
