Obituary of Peter Scheurwater
Peter Jan Scheurwater formerly of Culross Township, surrounded by family, at Braemar Retirement Centre, on Friday, November 16th, 2018, at the age of 87.
Beloved husband of Janna “Anna” Scheurwater (née ten Pas) for 63 years.
Loving father of Bernice and her husband Carmon Courtney, Bill and his wife Glenda Scheurwater, Aileen and her husband Michael Alemu, John and his wife Ann Scheurwater, Joyce Scheurwater, Eric Scheurwater and Linda Ann and her husband William McGrail.
He cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peter is the last surviving member of his family being predeceased by his parents, Willem and Aaltje (née VanBaren) Scheurwater, sisters, Gert Van Litgh (Mien), Aaltje de Kruif (Marinus) and Johanna van Valburg (Gerrit) Cornelia Bos (John) and brothers, Toon Verbeek (Jo) and Wout Scheurwater (Jantje).
Survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Vonnie ten Pas, Sonja (Reijer) Van Lenten, Gerhard ten Pas, Pat ten Pas, Sharon ten Pas, Johan and Phyllis ten Pas, Arie and Evie ten Pas, Frits and Sally ten Pas. Predeceased by in-laws Dina and Gerrit Grevers, Willem ten Pas, Hendrik ten Pas, Kim ten Pas, Jan ten Pas, Bernard ten Pas.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States and The Netherlands.
Visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service honouring Peter’s life at 1:30 p.m., with Reverend Don Albrecht officiating.
Spring interment Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Red Cross or Gideon’s would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
