MACKINNON, Perley Hugh –
Age 44 of Port Hastings.
It is with profound soundness that we announce the
death of Perley Hugh MacKinnon at home, on Friday, June 22, 2018.
Perley was born in Antigonish on May 19, 1974 and was a lifelong
resident of Port Hastings.
Perley is survived by his parents Perley and Marie (MacRae)
MacKinnon, Port Hastings; his brothers, Bobby (Michelle Higgins),
Halifax and Walter (Teri) MacKinnon, Moncton; sisters, Wilena (Brian
Wood), Aulds Cove, and Traci (Dan MacIsaac), Port Hawkesbury. He will
be dearly missed by nieces and nephews, Carter and Avery MacKinnon;
Robert, Nicole, Chelsea and TJ Tobin and Kaitlyn MacKinnon; Jonathan
(Brianne) Bonaparte, Colton (Jade Webb) and Cody (Teanna Bouchie)
Wood; and Clint, Blake and Reice Snook. He will also be missed by his
many uncles, aunts and cousins in the MacKinnon, MacRae and King
families.
He was predeceased by grandparents Allan Charlie and Christie
MacKinnon, Sadie and Bobby King, all of Port Hastings.
Perley had a heart of gold. He was well loved, and
family and friends cherished their time with him. He was
« Uncle Perley » to many. Despite having a lengthy illness, he
was widely known to be selfless, always in good cheer and willing to
help people (always a « Ya Sure » anything his siblings
needed)
Perley studied electrical construction at the NSCC and was a
graduate of SAERC, both in Port Hawkesbury.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held
Wednesday, June 27 from 2-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home,
724 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral services will
take place Thursday, June 28 at 11 a.m. in St. David’s
United Church, Port Hastings with Nan Corrigan, DM officiating. Burial
to follow in St. David’s Cemetery, Port Hastings.
A light lunch will follow in St. David’s Church
Hall.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made in Perley’s memory to St. David’s
United Church, Strait Richmond Healthcare Foundation, or a charity of
