It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the unexpected passing of Penny. Just 4 days after being diagnosed with metastatic cancer, she was unable to leave the hospital in Victoria, but remained full of life, grace and spirit to the end.
Penny is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Gary. As an only child, she was born in Bindloss, Alberta. Predeceased by per parents Pat (Arnold) and Fran. She leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends and colleagues from around the world. Spending many years living on the West Coast, Penny and Gary have spent the last 14 years on Pender Island, BC.
Penny was actively involved in women’s business networking, was an accomplished Toast Mistress and Power talk public speaker. Her flair for poetry will be remembered by all. She will always be the subject of the phrase “what would Penny do?”
No flowers by request. Donations can be made in her name to: The BC Cancer Society, an animal rescue of your choice or please consider giving someone a hand up in life.
We celebrate a life well lived, and are better for having been a part of it. A celebration of life has yet to be decided and may be disclosed at a later date.
