OBITUARY
Penny Elizabeth Handford
February 16, 1945 – November 24, 2018
Penny E. Handford (nee Burchill) passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2018 in North Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 73. She spent her final months surrounded by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Fletcher Evans, and grandchildren, Charlotte and Michaela.
Penny was born February 16, 1945 in London, Ontario. She moved to Vancouver, BC and devoted a long career in nursing working first at Children’s Hospital in the ICU and later at Sunrise Longterm Care Facility in Lynn Valley. Penny was married to Herb Handford for 34 years. She is also survived by her brother Doug, sisters Brenda and Jackie, and nieces and nephews: Erin, Michelle, Scott, and Janice.
Penny was a dedicated soccer fan. She had many fond memories of cheering on her daughter and her teammates as the team manager, and later on had the joy of watching her granddaughter score her first goal.
Penny had a zest for fashion, shopping and cooking and had a way of making friends wherever she went.
We love you, mom. Our hearts are warmer for having had you in our lives.
