Peggy
Margaret “Peggy” Evans, of Walkerton, passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in her 94th year.
Peggy was born in Hamilton, Ontario to Harry and Minnie (nee Richmond) Hammond. In 1946, she married “the guy with the great smile”, Doug Evans and they shared 68 years together until Doug’s passing in 2014. Peggy’s specialty in life was raising their three children and making the best ever roast beef and apple pies. There will forever be a void in the lives of her beloved children: David and partner Janice of Brantford, Cathy and Mike White of Walkerton, Nancy and Karol Falkowski of Nova Scotia, Kathleen Evans of Port Dover. “Grandma Peggy” adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jeff and Tammy White (Kyla, Maddy, Josh), Meridith and Jeff Smith (Ethan), Lindsay Evans (Aedan), David and Trina Evans (Konner, Kinley). Survived by her brother-in-law Royce and Joan Evans of Sarnia and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy is predeceased by her brother Douglas Hammond and sister Lenora Lawson.
Peggy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton (1106 Yonge Street) from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Herb Klaehn officiating.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton
