PAULINE NICKOLIEVICH
(nee Mardynalka)
Peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018, Pauline passed away in Gimli Hospital at the age of 87.
She will be greatly missed by her son, James (Jeannette); brothers, Edward, William and Frank. Sisters, Lily Weslak(Joe), Sophie Dudych (Mike), and Lena Senkow (John). Grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) of Edmonton, Jennifer (Matthew) Neale and Jason (Miranda). Great-Grandchildren, Julia, Gwyneth, Charlee, Jackson and Ava; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Lorne; husband Michael; brothers, Andrew, Michael, Dan, John, Walter; and sisters, Mary and Katherine.
Pauline was born on March 20, 1930 in Hadashville where she grew up and married Michael in 1950. They bought land across the road and proceeded to develop their dairy farm operation. They had 2 boys, but lost their youngest son, Lorne at the age of 21 to a car accident. They were married for 53 years and when Michael passed away in 2003, she moved to a house closer and amongst family and friends. Aside from daily farm chores Pauline would take great pride in her garden, flowers and fruit trees. Always had lots to share with family and friends. During the winter months she loved to knit, crotchet and sew. She was always happy to see her grandchildren come out and spend time with her. She loved to socialize with the seniors at the Reynolds Recreation Centre.
Pauline will always be remembered by her gentle nature, rarely ever heard her complain or utter a harsh word.
Funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds Recreational Centre, Hadashville, MB. Interment will follow at Ukrainian Catholic Parish Ascension Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nickols, Jason Nickols, Wayne Dudych, Garry Senkow, Eric Mardynalka and Wayne Mardynalka.
