Pauline Sullivan
January 25, 1940 – November 17, 2018
SULLIVAN, Pauline R.N. (Née Chisholm)
With her family by her side at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Saturday November 17th, 2018. Pauline grew up in her beloved St-Andrews West as one of 10 children born to Annie J. McDonald and Alex J. Chisholm. One of the highlights of her life was time spent training as a Registered Nurse surrounded by her classmates of the St-Joseph’s School of Nursing, graduating class of 1961. These ladies would remain her cherished life-long friends. She was a dedicated nurse at the Hotel Dieu & Janet MacDonell Memorial Hospitals and is known for the kind and compassionate care she delivered. As fate would have it, she met and fell in love with Ray, a handsome and aspiring young funeral director with whom she created a loving family. She played a vital role in the success and longevity of Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes. Despite her battle with rheumatoid arthritis and kidney disease, she remained a loving and interested mother and grandmother who enjoyed family day trips, her crossword puzzles and marathon phone conversations with family and friends. She will be remembered for her determination and stoic personality.
She leaves to mourn, her devoted husband of 50 years, Raymond Sullivan of Cornwall, her son Sean Sullivan from Calgary AB, her daughters Laurie Kennedy (Kieran) from Cornwall, Lynn Wert (Peter) from Wylie TX and 7 much loved grandchildren, Kathryn, Allison, Matthew & Nicholas Wert and Cameron, Logan & Addison Kennedy.
She will be sadly missed by siblings Donald (Mary), James (Bonnie), Charles (Sue), Hugh, Bernard (the late Lorna), Mary Bray (Armand), Cameron & Sheldon (Christine Dakin). She is predeceased by her parents Annie and Alex Chisholm, sister Shirley Elliott (the late Ken), nephew Kelly Bray and best friend Carol Boileau (Roger).
She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Resting at Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 7th Street West. (613-932-8482) Wednesday from 2 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 10 pm and Thursday from 9 am until the time of Funeral. Funeral for Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 22nd in St-Peter’s Church at 11:00 am. Spring Interment at St-Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault.
