It is with great sadness that the LACROIX family announce the passing of Paul Gerard LACROIX, their dear husband, father and grandfather, on August 6, 2018 after a courageous struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Paul was the sixth child of Etienne and Marie (Archer) LACROIX. He was born on their farm near Zenon Park, Saskatchewan on October 12, 1930. He spent his early school years at the country school Verchères and finished at the village school.
A humble and quiet man, Paul was happy on the farm. Nevertheless, he travelled to Vancouver as a young man, and to France in 1971 in order to marry his dear Ginette (Brugière) Lacroix. They lived together on a farm near Zenon Park with their son Denis (Melissa). In 2002, they moved to Edmonton in order to be close to their two grand-children, Pascal and Lucia.
A Funeral Mass for Paul’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at St. Thomas D’Aquin Parish (8410, 89th St, Edmonton). He will be buried at St. Joachim Cemetery (Edmonton).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a society for Parkinson’s Disease or the Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité Church of Zenon Park (Box 70, Zenon Park, SK, S0E 1W0).
The family extends its sincere thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital for their care and service these past six months.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Paul Gerard Lacroix of Edmonton
