Ottis Everett Henwood
1922-2018
Ottis Everett Henwood, 95
of Riverview passed away peacefully on January 30th,
2018 at the Moncton Hospital.
Ottis was born in Albert Mines on November 5th,
1922 the son of the late Liffie and Elizabeth
(Milton) Henwood.
Ottis was a hard worker, he worked with Swift
Canadian and then started the company, C & O Contractors along
with his brother Clayton where he worked until his
retirement. He attended
the Hillsborough Baptist Church and sang in the
Silver Chords Choir, later he became a member of
the Gunningsville Baptist
Church. Ottis loved cooking and was known
for his carrot cake and hodgepodge. He enjoyed
playing crib and also loved travelling, having been to Japan, Ireland
England,Hawaii, Florida and all across Canada in his
travels. Ottis loved his family very much
and they all knew he was there for them. He is now at peace
in the presence of his Lord and also being reunited with his beloved
wife Marie.
He will be deeply missed by his son,
Elwyn Henwood (Sharon) of Riverview;
daughter, Rhona Hendy (Ralph) of Caledonia Mountain;
his grandchildren,
Lisa Hendy McDavid (Todd) of Turtle Creek,
Tammy Milton (Jeff) of Riverview,
Todd Henwood (Tracey Taylor) of Eastern Passage and
Stacey Dowling (George) of South Carolina; his great
grandchildren, Jeremy, Corey, Felicia, Kayla, Brett, Jessica, Colby,
Olivia, Anna, Sophia, Logan and Quinn; great great grandchildren,
Parker, Payton, Hunter ,Weston and Nevaeh; sisters, Muriel
Hanson of Hillsborough,
Marjorie Keirstead of Amherst and Lorena Phillips
(Sandy) of Lower Coverdale; brother,
Clayton Henwood(Jane) of Riverview and
sister-in-law, Geraldine Henwood of Kingston,
ON. He will also be missed by several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents and his beloved wife Marie he was
predeceased by brothers, Richard (Lilly), Henry and
Merton.
The family will be having private visitation. All
are welcome to attend the Funeral Service to be held at the Albert
County Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at 2:00pm with
Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Following the service the
family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing
of memories and refreshments at the funeral home. Interment
will be in the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later
date.

the Gunningsville Baptist Church or to the charity
of the donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated.
