Obituary of Oscar Martin
Passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, at the age of 85 years. Oscar, of Elmira, was predeceased by his beloved wife, of 51 years, Muriel (Block) Martin (2007). Loved father of Rod and Sandy of Guelph, Darren and April of Ancaster, and Michele of Elmira. Loving grandpa of Christopher and Katie, Nick and Emily, Laura, and Nathan, and great-grandpa of William. Dear brother of Harold and Lorene Martin of Conestogo and Edna Hunsberger of Goshen, Indiana. Predeceased by his parents Ishmael and Fanny Martin, brother Vernon, and sisters Mabel Brubacher and Naomi Brubacher. Special friend of Lila Frey of Elmira. The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial visitation on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service, with Pastor Fred Lichti officiating, will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Elmira Mennonite Church, 58 Church St. W., Elmira. In Oscar’s memory, donations to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Cardiac Care Centre would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
